What a journey! To take a business idea from concept to a £7million company with over 50 staff was an incredible achievement and I am so proud.
In December 2021 after the tough pandemic years, we continued the pathway to finding the right business partner to invest in the firm and continue serving our workforce and extensive customer base. With 50,000 + products in the field we needed a robust solution that brought market experience, processes, and longevity.

The broad product portfolio was based on strong relationships with leading brands and manufacturers, where I managed the supply chain partnerships.
I also set up a UK direct service engineer network for service, installations, and maintenance and this delivered a healthy recurring revenue stream into the business.
With my knowledge and experience from the past 12 years, I helped steer and grow the company from a small start-up to the current successful multimillion pound hydration business.
My passion for systems and processes has helped grow the business to deliver an exponential growth in EBITDA which was a huge factor in finding a buyer for the firm.
Alongside co-founder Fred Cairns Palmer and financial director Chris Way, we took a couple of years to achieve the right exit strategy that would allow the WCD Group grow to the next level.
In December 2021 we were bought by Waterlogic for an undisclosed sum, who a year later in 2022 came under the ownership of global water company, Culligan. We played full parts in the due diligence of the sale, in partnership with Harrison Clark Rickerby solicitors and Andorran accountants on the collaboration and acquisition.
Chris and I remained in the business for a further 18 months to oversee the transition and manage the business.
A bit about my previous career! I started out in the family business Glanville Tyres before becoming a full time, professional rugby player and Captain at Gloucester Rugby Club (GRFC) in 1996. After retiring due to injury, I then became Team Manager of GRFC and Director of Rugby at Cinderford RFC where the team gained promotion to National 1. Ten+ years ago I stepped back to focus on my family and coaching at my local rugby club.
I am also proud to be on the committee for the Gloucester Rugby Former Players Association (GRPA). At the weekend I enjoy coaching the Minis and Youth at Longlevens and can often be seen cycling the highways of our county.
